the iziko product range will appeal to sports enthusiasts who appreciate high quality clothing, great designs, and who want their purchase decisions to make a difference. iziko will become a driving, sustaining force behind projects that impact thousands of lives in Southern Africa through soccer-mentorship projects.

Top Three Things to Communicate through our Logo:
#1 - the word iziko is xhosa for "fire" or "fireplace". we like the image of a flame that can be passed on and on without ever diminishing the original.
#2 - energy and hope
#3 - we want to be a high-end, classy brand (not necessarily overly expensive, but high-quality).
Our Target Market:
Our initial market is North America, but within 5 years we hope to establish a global brand. Think of the current industry leaders, such as Nike, Puma and Adidas, and then add a whole new dimension in terms of our reason for existence. We exist to change lives, and to connect socially-minded consumers with a cause and projects that they are proud to be a part of. Iziko is more than just a brand or product range - it's a point of connection between people who love sport across the world.
In terms of demographics, I imagine our initial market will be young - high-school, college and young professionals. I realize that's a broad demographic, but it's the one we're after. Our customers are people who are concerned about the impact their lives have on the world they live in.

Color preferences:
red and black. however PLEASE NOTE that the purpose of this logo is to be used as an icon on branded clothing. So, think of the Nike swoosh and the Puma icon - these icons are rendered in a variety of colors on a variety of fabric backgrounds. We need the same flexibility.
Our Ideas and Additional Information:
We like the idea of a flame or fire. We want something that has simple, clean lines and is easily recognizable. The primary point of use is a 2-3inch print or label on a shirt or other piece of clothing, so it must be simple enough to be clear and powerful at that small size and in embroidered form.
