United States Admin | October 28th, 2012, 7:44amWelcome to LogoArena Here are some helpful tips for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses. - Rank design entries daily, this will encourage participation.
It is non-monetary means of showing appreciation for the Designers' hard work.
- The more feedback you provide, the better results you will see
(you can do so by clicking on the logo you want to give feedback to).
It will also guide the designers in the right direction.
- Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.

New Zealand Contest holder | October 29th, 2012, 7:37amThe logo it primarily to be used as on a website, business cards and invoices. Ideally later on I'd like to use the image in the logo for icons, embroidered logos (on polo shirts, hats, etc...) and laser engraving (eg cufflinks, phones, etc..). |

New Zealand Contest holder | October 29th, 2012, 7:40amI'm a newbie to this, so I'm happy to be convinced about using the odd colour, or a different mythic beast (no unicorns though). So feel free to try different stuff and leave comments telling me why it better (assuming you can leave comments on your own artwork). |

New Zealand Contest holder | October 30th, 2012, 6:26amHi All,
Firstly a quick thank you to everyone who's contributed so far.
Regarding fonts: I'd like something modern (I quite like the font used in wyvernsoon.jpg). I'm thinking serif fonts as they feel 'stronger' and more precise. I've had gothic fonts suggested, but some of them feel too 'old' and not modern enough.
Again though, I'm happy to be convinced otherwise. If you think you can get the right feel of professionalism, strength, elegance and attention to detail then I'm happy to consider it.
If you can see other entries (I hear you only get to see them after a couple of days) I'd be ranking the fonts used thus: #6 (best so far), #10, #9, #7, #2, #3, #8, #5.

New Zealand Contest holder | October 30th, 2012, 6:46amRegarding the mythical beast: I'd like something 'strong' (see dragon1.png or dragon2.png) and yet elegant (again with the wyvernsoon.jpg), if that's possible.
Also if it's a dragon, then it can't be a too Asian styled (no long beard or moustache, short beards appear to be ok).
I do like the way the dragon in wyvernsoon.jpg appears to match up with the font very well, so if that sort of relationship can be made then that's good too. |

New Zealand Contest holder | October 30th, 2012, 7:15amThis is my first time here at logoarena, so if I'm doing anything wrong, or not following the correct etiquette then please pull me up on it (yes I can take constructive criticism).
I have some predefined thoughts about the logo, but I'm not a designer, so I have no idea if what I think I want is any good at all. So please feel free to give me feedback. Tell me when something I suggest is 'old-school', or gives a 50's feel to a design, or is just plain stupid.
And if I'm being too picky, or not constructive enough in my feedback then please tell me.
Thanks again to all of you who have joined this.

Indonesia Logo designer | October 30th, 2012, 3:11pmThe Contest Rank is Blind for designer, so please don't mention in comment who's current lead or best so far, or something like that.
Thank you

New Zealand Contest holder | October 30th, 2012, 7:00pmThanks for the advice masjacky, I'll make sure I don't mention ranks/leading designs in future comments. |
|
New Zealand Contest holder | October 30th, 2012, 9:20pmI'm convinced now that I'd like a splash of color in the logo. That a 2 color logo is the way to go. I've updated the contest info appropriately. The logo will be primarily used for websites, business cards, and letterheads. So I've dropped the 'mugs, t-shirts' user case. |
