Our industry: Financial & Insurance
Top Three Things to Communicate through our Logo:
#1 - Partnership
#2 - Bridging a gap
#3 - Technology focused
Our Target Market:
Our target demographic is HR Directors who are primarily 35 – 59 year old and female.
I wonder if there's a way that we could use some of the letters to create the feeling of partnership, or bridging a gap with our clients. We are also technology focused so we want that conveyed as well. We need to position ourselves as modern, not archaic.
Styles that we are interested in:
Characters
Emblems
Letterform Mark
Wordmark
Values to communicate:
Feminine
Masculine
Young
Mature
Luxury
Economical
Modern
Classic
Playful
Serious
Loud
Quiet
Simple
Complex
Subtle
Obvious
Color preferences:
We think blue and green and gray. Traditionally, blue and green are “money” colors, but we are also tech focused. What colors connote tech?
As far as fonts, something sans-serif can say “modern” even though the name says “classic” (and let’s hope NOT “archaic”).
Images… Please NO columns, ruins, or buildings. Although Google, Facebook, Pinterest are all just words, do not use just the word “Lyceum” with no adornment. That image leaves a lot to be desired unless there’s some ornamentation to the typeface.
Our Ideas and Additional Information:
Since Washington, DC is the geographic center of our region, I don’t think it would be a stretch to have something DC-related in our logo. Stay away from buildings and Greek architectural elements.
• Could we use some of the letters in our name to create the feeling of partnership, or bridging a gap with our clients?
• Maybe something in a very interesting script would work?
• Arrows pointing towards the future?
• A compass indicating direction?
• A lighthouse?
• We definitely have to seem serious since we’re dealing with money
