What we do:
Founded in 1993, International Guitar Foundation (IGF) is an arts agency dedicated to the promotion, understanding and enjoyment of the guitar, its music and artists. Our work is defined by the Listen.Play.Create programme which features the guitar as the ideal vehicle for diverse and accessible concert and festival programming (Listen), participatory music making (Play) and contributes to the instrument’s heritage through an extensive commissioning programme (Create).
IGF stages a range of events nationwide from festivals in London, Bath and the North East to large-scale summer schools in Bath, Cheltenham and London. We cover most styles of guitar and our events are attended by young people starting out and mature students rediscovering the passion.
We are looking for a logo that we can use for publicity (leaflets, advertising etc) that works in versions of all sizes. The logo is for the event IGF's Guitar Summit:

This summer, the world’s greatest guitarists will gather in the heart of London.
Guitar legends Juan Martín, David Russell and Martin Taylor are joined by young lions Mike Dawes, Rafael Aguirre and Dario Cortese for a brand new four-day festival and summer school offering concerts, masterclasses and lectures.
Kings Place is an amazing new venue featuring two world class concert halls, state of the art workshop spaces & recording facilities, spacious public spaces, a waterside restaurant, a cafe and bar situated right in the middle of Europe’s biggest transport hub, minutes away from the Eurostar terminal, mere hours away from Paris and most UK destinations.

We want this logo to include a graphic image of the famous piece of London architecture- The Shard behind the text IGF's Guitar Summit.
We like clean simple font for text.

Top Three Things to Communicate through our Logo:
#1 - Importance of the guitar
#2 - Something that represents the word 'Summit' we like the idea of using The Shard (building in London)
#3 - Target market is broad- this has to appeal to people of all walks of life and all ages
Our Target Market:
This is difficult as our events appeal to all genres of guitar music and all ages of guitar players.
I think it is important to take a look at our website and social media platforms to get a good idea of how IGF works and who it appeals to. Also, you can gather an idea of the existing logos for other parts of the company.

Color preferences:
IGF tend to use colour association for events. Anything held in the North-East is in green, Bath is orange and London is red. However look at www.igf.org.uk for our current colour schemes, and www.ligc.org.uk for a logo we consider to be appropriate for that event.
This does not mean that we want something that fits in with what we already have as this is a new event and therefore a new logo, so don't feel restricted to the colours we've all displayed.
Our Ideas and Additional Information:
We really like the idea of a logo that incorporates the famous building in London, The Shard. We want something that plays on the word 'summit'.
