* allowing programmers to write and manipulate abstract models of their code
* helping programmers understand the precise behavior of their code
* measuring the quality of the components of software
* helping programmers to easily modify their code

Color preferences:
The official colour of our university is blue (rgb:0,71,182), the official colours of our department are blue and green (rgb:47,0,131 and rgb:113,185,45).
We would like a logo that stands out next to the university/department logos, but that includes an element with similar colours if possible. We prefer simple logos with few colours.
Our Ideas and Additional Information:
We usually write our lab name, GEODES, either all caps or all lowercase, but not mixed. Since we are part of an academic institution, we strongly prefer freely available fonts.
We would prefer an original logo that avoids very common computer-related items such as computer monitors, keyboard, etc. Since the logo will be used for both french and english content, artists should not include any tagline or additional text to the logo.
Here are some helpful tips for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses.
Rank design entries daily, this will encourage participation.
It is non-monetary means of showing appreciation for the Designers' hard work.
The more feedback you provide, the better results you will see
(you can do so by clicking on the logo you want to give feedback to).
It will also guide the designers in the right direction.
Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
Designers earn points for top 10 ranked designs. We recommend ranking different
designers for top ranks, It encourages more participation.
The LogoArena design community wants you to get the best possible logo for your business.
Thank you for all of the entries! We are following the contest with great interest. I have been asked by my coworkers to provide the following general feedback:
- They feel that entires #1, #6 and #7 best capture the idea of code transformation, so I've adjusted the current ranking accordingly. We'd like to see this aspect of the design explored further.
- They feel that I have overstated the serious nature of the design (due to my own personal bias), and would like to see less conventional designs as well.
Wow, I can't believe the rate at which the entries are being submitted! This will be a tough choice for us. I'm currently gathering comments and rankings from all group members, so I can rank all current entries in a couple of hours. I'll be in touch again shortly.
I just want to say that we have a lab meeting planned for tomorrow during which we'll determine the final ranking. Sorry about the lack of updates, but we haven't been able to find an earlier time to time.
Thanks to everyone who submitted an entry, we're all impressed by the high quality of the work!
