Here are some helpful tips for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses.

1. Rank design entries daily, this will encourage participation. It is non-monetary means of showing appreciation for the Designers' hard work.
2. The more feedback you provide, the better results you will see (you can do so by clicking on the logo you want to give feedback to). It will also guide the designers in the right direction.
3. Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
4. Designers earn points for top 10 ranked designs. We recommend ranking different designers for top ranks, It encourages more participation.

I was looking for the like button for what haruel said.

Wow... first day and very promising logos... keep up the good works.

Some thoughts:

1) Feel free to use the font you want. You don't have to follow the font style of the Town's logo.

2) We want the heart to be in the logo either in the wording OR the logo... be creative and use it where you prefer.

Feel free to ask question, I'll try to answer each of you as fast as possible.

Some more ideas:

We do have a little waterfall. You can try to do something with waterfall to represent nature.

Also I see some railroad in logos... it's interesting but could also try to use a locomotive to symbolize the industrial history of our town.

I am going to make a comment about mountains... the concept is interesting but here it is pretty small mountain, may be we should talk about hills rather then mountain. The top should be more rounded... :)

Also as we are a Chamber of Commerce, it would be important to have a connection with business somewhere.

Here's some feedback to go forward... since today is a holiday (something I forgot...) I was not able to consult the other board members :( I'll get in touch tomorrow and be back with more feedbacks!

Meanwhile, I do have comments and feedbacks from voters. Here's some comments I believe will be helpful for everyone of you.

1) The wording "Chambre de Commerce" should not be too small. Some logo has the word "Labelle" pretty big and "Chambre de commerce" very small. We want "Chambre de Commmerce" to stand in the logo.

2) Some logos are pretty "loaded", try to keep it simple.

3) Pictogram & symbols needs to be easily understood.

Here's some thought to go forward with your creation:

1) DON'T USE the locomotive in your design, after much feedbacks and thoughts, using it tends to make us think about the past rather then think about the future.

2) Images like river, waterfall and hills are well appreciated and reflect very well our environment. BUT... always think about the fact we are reaching business people when you create your logo. Some logos we received and got high ranking by voters unfortunately do not have a business connection and are more suited for a summer camp... I don't want to be mean they are awesome but do not reflect our business interest.

3) The railroad has been transformed as a bicycle path. One suggested to use the imagery of a bicycle as a mean to show that we are going forward... This is just an idea... do what you want with this one... it's really not mandatory.

4) Keep your logo simple, unique and easily understandable.

5) Your questions are very welcome, feel free to ask. I'll be glad to answer you.

By the way, we have a lot of participation on Facebook for this contest, so even if you're not the winner may be other people will be interested by your creations... we never know !

Thanks everyone for you great participatin, some notes:

We are looking for a logo that would have a sober touch that will be more suited for a Chamber of Commerce. Not too childish or summer camp style.

A connection to business or collaboration is also appreciated.
