Our industry: Travel & Hospitality
Top Three Things to Communicate through our Logo:
#1 - A good nights sleep
#2 - modern and comfortable
#3 - Relaxing and tranquil
Our Target Market:
Key customer segments are families and tradespeople. Most of our guests are in town for sports tournaments or visiting family, or tradespeople working in the area on a project. The majority of the locations are on the Canadian Prairie's. Our locations usually have few options and our brand is meant to stand out as a new modern urban-like hotel in a rural setting with small town hospitality. We want to draw people in to our properties rather than have them drive another hour down the road to the nearest city. These people are looking for something that stands out as clean, refreshing, comfortable and dependable.

Our Ideas and Additional Information:
AVOID too much similarity to Sleep Inn logo (attached). Not quite sure what we like better yet, a word mark highlighting the initials as more of a logo, or the words and playing with a blue crescent imagery. Logo should not have too complex of an image so that it is usable on merchandise, screen printing, large site signage. (ie. if there is too much intricate detail, it does not show well in embroidery). It should also have monochrome version and be able to use on light or dark backgrounds.

Please note, logo that have thin, fine details become too difficult to see up on the side of the building from a block away. Please ensure logo designs have thicker elements in order to be more visible. Thank you. Good options so far though.
OK, just about to the end. Great ideas. I think we have a narrowed down idea of the elements that are really sticking out.
>Avoid BCH initials. We want full words
>The word "Hotel" must be the same size as the other words
> Font must not have fine details, so San Serif or similar
>Have a logo mark that can stand on it's own as the big sign without the words. Become a recognizable mark. Think the Big green H of Holiday Inn as a standalone. You can see by our ranking what seems to be sticking out to us.
>Capital letters on the first letter of the words
>Lots of nice logos for a corporation, but we are looking for something that conveys and good night sleep hotel. The logo must convey our key brand characteristics, (good night sleep, small town hospitality) to our key customer segments (families and tradespeople).
>WE ALSO NEED A LOGO THAT CAN WORK WITH A NEGATIVE VERSION OF THE LOGO IE. ON WHITE AND DARK BACKGROUNDS.
