Logo contest: Big Bear Rose Parade Association

What we do:

Mission Statement "Through its Rose Parade participation, the Big Bear Rose Parade Float Association celebrates, promotes, and unifies the Big Bear Valley, while simultaneously stimulating local economic, volunteer, and leadership opportunities."

The community of Big Bear has joined together to have a float in the 2019 Tournament of Roses Parade. We are committed to having a float in the parade for years to come. We are a not- for-profit (501c3) organization. The volunteer Board is comprised of community leaders representing a broad cross-section of the community. Board President, Gloria Meade, is a long time Tournament of Roses Parade volunteer and former employee of the organization. Vice President Liz Harris is the Field Representative for San Bernardino County Board of Supervisor James Ramos. Previously she was three term Mayor of the City of Big Bear Lake while she served on City Council. Board member Judi Bowers is the Publisher of our local newspaper. Board Treasurer, Sandy Miller, is a retired business executive who is currently an active volunteer in not-for- profit organizations. Board member Bob Cisneros is the Curator of the Big Bear Alpine Zoo, one of only two alpine zoos in the nation. Beth Wheat is a corporate level employee of a large international corporation. Educator Brian Adams is the talented performing arts teacher at our high school producing many plays and musical performances every year. The Board seeks major sponsors and will be holding major community events to raise awareness and funds.

Big Bear is a Southern California destination for people with active lifestyles. We welcome more than 8.3 million people to our valley annually to play on the mountain, the lake and trails, shop in the Village and eat in our fine restaurants. We also have a rich cultural heritage that includes ancient Serrano Indian camp sites, gold mining sites from the 1800s and large cattle ranches whose beef fed the miners. Today we enjoy high altitude snow sports, hiking and cycling. Big Bear Lake offers recreational sports and fishing. Big Bear is home to one of only two high altitude zoos in the nation. We hold festivals and events celebrating visual and performing arts.
