Logo contest: All Hands on Deck for APAC

What we do:

We're looking to design a logo for a special event we're planning. The event is a 3 hour evening cruise through the Intercoastal waterway in South Florida. Attendees will enjoy an open bar, music, dancing, and dinner. We will also have a silent auction benefiting APAC.

What we do:

Here's how the event will be described in the convention literature: Hop aboard a luxury yacht and set sail to support APAC at the All Hands on Deck Yacht Party. Guests will enjoy an open bar, heavy hors d’oeuvres, dancing, and an auction benefiting APAC. Boarding and sail-away photos begin at 6:45 p.m. at the Boca Raton Resort & Club Marina. Be sure to arrive on time and don’t let the fun sail away without you!

Our Target Market:

Florida Apartment Association members who'd like to enhance their annual conference experience with an evening cruise through the Intercoastal waters of South Florida with their industry colleagues (all while raising funds for the political action committee of the association).

This event will cost the attendees an extra $200 on top of their registration fee, so we need to make sure it is being marketed as a special, luxury event.

jgoldvava United States Contest holder	October 26th, 2017, 8:05pm We're getting a lot of logos that look too similar to last year's logo (circular, text ringing the illustration). We'd like to see something different this year. Also, we are not married to the idea of the logo including the yacht. There are lots of other nautical imagery that would be just as impactful (anchor, captain's wheel, life preserver, captain's cap, etc). The cruise will be starting at sunset and running into the night, so that could be part of the environment of the design as well (sunset, or starry sky, or moon, etc). The cruise will take place through the intercoastal waterway of south florida, so designers could include palm trees or other imagery that relates to South Florida.

We're looking to do something different from last year's logo -- not the same. Also, don't be afraid to move away from a Red, White and Blue color scheme -- we're happy to see colors. Finally, the logo does NOT need to include an image of the yacht -- there are many other ways to portray the idea of a yacht party.

jgoldvava United States Contest holder	October 29th, 2017, 5:43pm We really liked all top three winners of this contest: logoarena.com/logo-contests/ho… We like them because they have lots of colors, they are NOT circular, they have many elements within the design, and it is very clear what is being promoted. Our logo could include several of the following elements (not necessarily all of them) -- Yacht, Palm Trees, Moon or Sunset, Wine Glasses, Music Note, Water... I look forward to seeing the revised logos!
