We are a laboratory that provides pollution analysis, like radioactive materials measurements, electromagnetic pollution; air, soil, water and environment tests in general.
Our name stands for "LABOratory of RADiation".
The company provides assistance to clients (both individuals and companies) in assessing and solving problems of pollution, as well as assistance in evaluating and in improving the comfort and safety in house and in workplaces. Our main target are big companies above all multi-national ones, but also individuals that want to live in a safe house.
The logo should express in imaginative and creative way what we do (mainly the topic of security in work places/ houses and safety of the environment) with particular emphasis on measures of optical, electromagnetic or radioactive radiations. We measure for example: lasers; radio waves, magnetic fields, antennas, power lines; radioactive contaminants and radon gas, noise, chemicals agents, airborne particles, bacteria, but we have also in our group law consultants specialized in workplace security, engineers, biologists, chemists).

Our Ideas and Additional Information:
The logo should say to the customer "we know how to face and to solve your problem with workplace security and/or of pollution", "we will protect you from dangers in your house/workplace".
The logo must be original, unique, easy to remember, colored. Should consist of a picture easy to understand, even for foreigners customers (we work in Rome, Italy). The customer, with a glance to the logo, should be able to say what we do and who we are !

| Italy Contest holder | February 4th, 2012, 12:08pm First of all thank you "justoverclock" and "florinake" for being the first to submit creative ideas and to partecipate to the very difficult challenge that we have launched. Either submitted good quality works, but unfortunately both the logos are far from our target, perhaps because we require both a good designer (like you are), and a clever psycologist in one single person ! The logo should be mainly an emblem, a character or a pictorial mark, the word "Laborad" should only appear to complete the logo but should not be the main part of it like in "justoverclock" product: we need a character or a graphic that the costumer can easily remember! Names are easily forgotten without an image linking to it (who would remember "Michelin" name without the "Tire man" ?) Moreover in the logo should counteract "danger and pollution" and "safety and the protection". We appreciate the efforts of justoverclock to represent the danger (the radioactive symbol) but his logo does not express any "safety and the protection". Florinake presents good quality graphic but in his logo lacks both the concepts of "danger" and that of "protection" . Last note the "srl" word can appear or not in the logo. You decide ! |

| Italy Contest holder | February 5th, 2012, 4:25am Thank you all for your efforts ! The logo is growing and it is now time for other guidelines for everybody: 1) the graphic should be predominat on word (like logo #3 and #1) or at least strongly integrated (like logo #2) 2) please use possibly both blue (like the sky and the sea) and green (like nature during spring). Additional other colors are allowed : you decide (orange, yellow ecc) ! 3) Use vivid colors, we want something impressive, not something that looks flat (like #6 and #1)! 3) The graphic should express both "danger" and "pollution" concepts verse "protection" and "safety". A shield could be an example, but it is overused and often improperly used (links to the concept of aggression). Example: two hands that tenderly keep and that sustain a man or a building protects from danger (that could be represented below): The hands (LABORAD) takes you away from danger) while a hand rapresented like a punch is too aggressive, please do not use it ! A bubble or a stylized house around you or around a family while the danger is represented outside is another example of danger and protection represented together. A peaceful natural landscape o simply a leaf or a tree represent nature. If you put a yellow helmet on it you represents shielding and protection, but also safety in workplaces, add the danger.... These are guidelines and examples to let you understand what we need, not requests... PLEASE MAKE USE OF YOUR UNIQUE AND SPECIAL CREATIVITY ! 4) pollution is not only the radioactive symbol: please use your creativity ! A cloud of dust could indicate pollution, a wave could indicate a "radiation" (electromagnetic, radioactive or optical...) a stylized industry building is potential danger but is also a workplace and our target costumer... |

Quick comment: Justeverclock in its #8 logo and in two variants #10 and #11 and now designarus in #12 and #13 are trying to play with the radioactivity symbol to represent pollution. We don't want to be linked only to radioactivity. We measure several kind of pollutants. Try if possible to represent pollution in a more general way and don't forget to represent also safety, protection and possibly environment, looking for something different from a shield used (perhaps sometimes abused)in several different logos (#8 #5 #7 #9 #6 #10 #11).
